“Sadie, we all have demons and shit we try to escape from, but at some point, you have to make a choice to not let those things define you and affect every decision you make.”
Sadie has a complicated past. She runs away from it to make a new life for herself. Enters Cole. He is everything that she was running from. Sadie’s new life and past collide.
After reading back-to-back books in series that were long, rereading Catching Cole was a nice palette cleanser. It was fast-paced. I was hooked from the beginning and read it in one day. A fair warning, though, it ends in a cliffhanger that sets up the second book, Vindictively Vicious.
Even though I enjoyed the story and world, I loved the side characters more for some reason. I didn’t like how Sadie treated Layla. I wanted more from the main characters. Although Cole and Sadie weren’t my favorite couple so far in the series, at least in Catching Cole, I like how they set up the rest of the series. Because I read the other two books in the series, Cole and Sadie are more developed, and you can see their growth later on. I loved Vee, Layla, and Ammo since they were first introduced. I’m glad they have their own books in the Hell Hounds MC series.
Catching Cole was the first book from Erin Mc Luckie Moya that I knew I wanted to read more from her. Although, it was not the first book that I read from her. But the one that was more up my alley. The Boy who was King was my introduction to Erin Mc Luckie. I enjoyed it, but it’s not something that I would typically read. That’s the good thing about Erin, though; if you don’t like something, there is probably something else that you might like. She doesn’t just write one type of book but dips her toes in a little bit of everything. Although I haven’t read everything from her yet, I am working on it.
