Collide

Summary

Review

Life was coming unraveled just as it had all been coming together.

I’m glad I could hear Dani and Levi come to life. Hearing their story from them made the experience better than I had imagined.

Collide had converted me into an audiobook lover! I usually don’t listen to audiobooks, but when I saw that Collide would be an audiobook, I jumped at the chance. But, boy, am I glad I did that! It didn’t matter that it had been months; moments came back to me as if it hadn’t been that long.

The rating only seems lower than the initial one because I didn’t have a system back then, and this time, I had some things that impacted my experience. But that does not mean that I loved it any less, by any means! Instead, just a few factors changed the experience of it.

I loved that there were two different narrators. It was not confusing, and you could tell whose point of view it was from and who was talking.

I want the other books in the Gladewater series to come out as audiobooks so I can experience that! So hopefully, that can be a thing at some point.

AUDIOBOOK RATING 2023: 🦋🦋🦋🦋 (4)

ORIGINAL RATING & REVIEW 2022: 4.5 ⭐️

It was amazing two people could live in the same city for years and not have their lives overlap.

Do you ever forget your first love?
Dani and Levi’s relationship was perfect. Or so they thought. Until something happened, and it ended. Trying to escape the hurt, they both moved on. Then, years later, life happened, and they both had to move back home. There is no such thing as coincidences. Sometimes you have to leave to find your way back home.

Collide is a second chance small-town romance. It was a nice palette cleanser. When I read something I like, I tend to fall into a hole of reading similar books repeatedly.

The relationships between Maggie and Dani; and Dani and JT was something else. I just can’t; I loved it!

Not going to lie; when I first attempted to write this review, I had put on Collide from Howie Day since it was mentioned in Collide. Yes, it took me a bit to write a full review. Life happens. But I am now finally able to.

When I finally read Collide, it was later in the day, so it took two days to read. The next day, I messaged Dallas. When I did, I was 80% into the book.

I started Collide yesterday. And I think it was a bad idea. I kept wanting to read it instead of going to bed. It kept pulling me in. I’m surprised I managed to put it down.

I was surprised to see that she posted that snippet on her account. There are different degrees of how authors interact with their readers. I don’t see authors interacting with their readers to that degree often. I had made her smile by sending that, so she posted it. This made me glad to be able to support her work. I can’t wait to read more from Dallas Ryan.

“A Bánh Mì for Two” is a feel-good story abo “A Bánh Mì for Two” is a feel-good story about food, family, and self-discovery.

Dual POVs: Lan, who lives in Sai Gon, wants to be the perfect daughter and fulfill “expectations,” all the while dealing with the grief of losing her father. Vivi is a Vietnamese-American who comes to Vietnam for the first time, wanting to learn more about her family and herself. Their love of food connects them.

I wasn’t expecting to get emotional as I did.

“A Bánh Mì for Two” was what I needed growing up. Stories with characters who look like me are coming to traditional publishing in YA. And people even know about it!

If only the blog was real! I would use it the next time I go to Vietnam. It needs to be a thing.

It was relatable. However, I wished for more at moments.
A few times, I had to stop to look up words. Since I can understand Vietnamese more than I can read it, I had to listen to the words to understand what they were. It would have been an even better experience if I had listened to the audiobook.

“A Bánh Mì for Two” was one of my anticipated books of the year, and I am honored to be gifted a copy.
