Summary
Everything about Krissy Winters exudes Christmas. From her jingle bell earrings to handmade ornament business, everything in her life revolves around her favourite holiday. That’s why when the latest man she’d been talking to online suggested they have their first date on Christmas Eve, she thought it was meant to be.
That is, until he didn’t show.
Now snowed in with Whiskey Fall’s hottest new bar owner, she tries to salvage the night by decorating the bar with the meager decorations left by the previous owners while getting to know the man that might as well grumble ‘Bah Humbug’ with every sentence.
Brett Jansen had only expected a quiet night at the Lucky Dog Pub, but instead he was pleasantly surprised when a bubbly blonde decked out in head-to-toe Christmas came bursting through his doors. Snowed in and nowhere to go, he wasn’t about to let this beautiful stranger take her chances on the ice covered streets.
Little did he know, letting her into his bar turned into him opening his hardened heart, something he hadn’t been able to do in a long time. With the Christmas magic fading and the snow melting, Brett has to decide if he’s able to open himself to Krissy, or continue on with his solitary life.
This short story is included in the Wanted: Mistletoe Anthology.

Review
“There’s Christmas magic in the air; I can feel it.”
I love that this is the first line!
Give me a Christmas book any time of the year, and I’ll gladly read it no matter what! Christmas movies, shows, and books are comforting for me. When I think of Christmas, I automatically think about the stereotypical Hallmark Christmas movie. Even if they’re not specifically Hallmark per se, they’re the ones people commonly think and know about.
People always say that opposites attract. Krissy is the epitome of Christmas. Meanwhile, Brett is the epitome of the Grinch. One lives and breathes Christmas, and the other loathes Christmas and does the bare minimum. Living in a small town her whole life, people know her and are protective of her. Brett is a nomad, constantly drifting from one place to another, trying to find where he belongs.
The only downside of Baby, it’s Cold Outside was that it was a little too quick for me, but then again, it is a novella, so it is understandable. It wraps everything up nicely, but I wished there was more to it. I honestly didn’t think I would have finished it as quickly as I did, but I couldn’t sleep, so I kept reading instead and finished it all in one sitting.
I have fallen in love with Logan Creek from the first book I read by Kimberly Ann, Canadian Summer. I always want more whenever I finish a book from the Logan Creek series. Seeing Brett from Baby, it’s Cold Outside was originally from Logan Creek and moved to Whiskey Falls intrigued me. With the taste I’ve gotten from this short story, I want to know more about Whiskey Falls, and I hope to read more about it soon.
Baby, it’s Cold Outside is a fun, quick read that will put you into the Christmas spirit!
